Ehren Muhammad – Host of The Ambition Show Podcast, and Founder of EMPro, Ltd talks about his Success Journey…

Today, we have the pleasure of interviewing Ehren Muhammad, Host of The Ambition Show podcast, and Founder of EMPro, Ltd. The Ambition Show is the platform for those that have that burning desire to reach their goals.

Please tell us something about yourself.

It’s so tough to answer these types of questions, but here I go. Like a lot of entrepreneurs, I started my first business when I was a kid. I would create comic books and sell them to friends. Since then, I have always been interested in design and storytelling. I got into the digital marketing and branding business originally as a consultant for indie record labels. I designed websites, advertising, and promotional plans.

How did you get into what you do right now? Please tell us more about your journey.

I am a good example of how your passion and purpose will find you. You just have to be ready and willing to follow through and pursue it.

Who are your role models?

My professional role models are Sean P. Diddy Combs. The diversified business model he created is a great model for others to learn from. Tyler Perry, because he is a great example of why it’s important to work toward living your dreams and the importance of giving back. Also, Bill Gates, due to the fact the empire he built was based on making something that wasn’t accessible by “laymen” for lack of a better term easily accessible – the personal computer became more personal and common due to Microsoft’s products in many ways. Finally, and not least, the late great, Stan Lee, he just thought differently and ran with it and inspired millions to just create their own worlds. Personally, my mother is my role model. She showed me just how much a person can accomplish if they put their heart into something that they love doing.

What inspires you?

Helping people succeed and accomplish their goals. I believe as the leader of a team of service providers that should be at the heart of why you work.

Please tell us about your company.

In college, I said what I wanted to do is help entrepreneurs build successful businesses to support their communities. I have assembled a fantastic team that helps small business owners and entrepreneurs leverage digital marketing tools such as websites, social media, SEO, and Online advertising to grow their brands and generate revenue. The team is diverse, experienced, and always learning, we have a great group.

What’s your most memorable experience?

My most memorable experience was when I was doing marketing and promotions for independent musicians in New York, and I was kicked out of the Sony Entertainment corporate office. I found a way to get into the offices and share the artists’ music with a few executives, one of their assistants caught me placing CDs on desks and security chased me out of the building. Crazy times, but if you don’t hunt, you can’t eat, right?

Which social media channels work best for promoting your work? What exactly do you do on the social media channel that makes it work for you?

LinkedIn has been the most effective. I am a marketing professional, and we focus on results. Social media engagement is great, but engagement that does not convert into brand awareness, website traffic, leads, and/or sales is not what a business owner should settle for. LinkedIn Ads have converted higher, and the connections have created more results as well. But one must keep in mind the target audience. My focus is to help business owners, and the mindset of those that primarily use Facebook or Instagram is not the mindset of someone utilizing LinkedIn.

What’s your greatest fear?

My greatest fear is to live in fear. Fear is crippling and can prevent anyone from living up to their potential.

Looking back, what’s one thing you wish you understood better before you ever got started?

That is easy, “Fear is your worst enemy.” Nothing will prevent you from succeeding more than your own fears and many of which are pre-conceived fears, not genuine fears. When I got that through my head and started moving with more faith and will power, I have grown tremendously.

What are the strategies that helped you become successful in your journey?

Writing detailed goals and building plans around the goal. Making actual roadmaps where I had milestones to hold me accountable. This way, if I did not reach a goal, I could easily go back to the writing plan or milestones and identify where I may have made a mistake.

What keeps you going when things get tough?

My faith and will to achieve new goals.
