Matt Shively is an American actor and is most famously known for his portrayal of Ryan Laserbeam on the television series airing on Nickelodeon “True Jackson, VP.” After his appearance on True Jackson, VP, Matt was able to get another two roles in June of 2011. He also starred in Winx Club, playing the character of Sky, and portrayed Kirby in the Nickelodeon television series The Troop. Later on, on March 8, 2016, Matt was cast to co-star in ABC’s The Real O’Neals, where he played the main role of Jimmy O’Neal.

Early life
Matt was born and raised in the city of Hanford, California. He became interested in acting during fourth grade, his biggest inspiration was Shia LaBeouf and the way he presented Even Stevens on the television program Even Stevens, Matt has stated that Shia has remained his inspiration for acting to this day. Matt has also said that he is an avid fan of the Canadian television series Degrassi: The Next Generation. He also had a band, named Connecting Channels, that he co-founded with his good friend Sterling Knight (Who is an American actor, singer, and dancer, most famously known for appearing in the sitcom Sonny with a Chance and its spinoff So Random!).

Matt’s career as an actor began in a relatively minor role. He played a small part in the 2007 film Rattle Basket, followed by another small role in an episode of Zoey 101. Later on, he auditioned for several parts, including the part of Ryan on True Jackson, VP, although Matt was told he didn’t get the part. Two weeks later, he got a phone call, though, and after a brief audition in the studio, luck had shined his way after all, and he got the part for Ryan after all. The show was a critical success and launched Shively’s acting career to newfound heights. He then got to be the voice on Nickelodeon’s Winx Club, where he was behind the character of Crown Prince Sky. Later on in his career, Matt got to reprise his vocal role as Crown Prince Sky in the two movies that followed after the series called Winx Club: The Secret of the Lost Kingdom (2007) and Winx Club 3D: Magical Adventure (2010). Following this role, Matt happily joined the cast of The Troop, which was in its last season. He starred as Kirby Bacroft-Cudworth III.

After appearing in many smaller roles and roles for the silver screen, Shively finally got his breakout film role in 2011. Although his role was minor, it still played an important part in shaping his career when he appeared in April Apocalypse.
