The actor started his career in 2002, appearing in the T.V. series Just Cause. This was followed by appearances on The Chris Isaak Show.
In 2004 and, later, in 2006, McLaren would appear on Smallville, first credited as a deliveryman and then as Yance. 2004 also saw the actor appear on The Collector and The Days.
