Early life before fame
Sam Underwood was born in the town of Woking, Surrey, and graduated from Winston Churchill School. He also joined the Karen Clarke Theatre Group, which is no called Summerscales Performing Arts. Sam’s vocal coach went by the name of Phil Wisdom; that’s where he attended Songtime Theatre Arts school.
Later on in his life, he moved to New York, United States, at the age of 19 and began studying at the American Musical and Dramatic Academy, which he graduated with excellent scores in February of 2008.
He also co-founded the Fundamental Theater Project with his friend Nicola Murphy back in April of 2010.

His acting success began in April 2010 after he appeared in George Bernard Shaw’s Candida as Marchbanks at the Irish Repertory Theatre in New York. Sam was invited to play the part of Alan Strang in the production of Equus, co-starring alongside the celebrity superstar Alec Baldwin at the John Drew Theater.
Then in 2013, Sam truly broke out as an international celebrity when he starred as Zach Hamilton on the eighth season of the massively popular TV series Dexter. He got to play the role of titular serial killer character Dexter Morgan’s “protégé”. This was a massive role for him and instantly catapulted his fame overnight. Following that, he also joined Leo Carras on the third season of Homeland.
Then in February 2014, Sam took the roles of twins Marks and Luke Gray in the second season of the hit murder mystery TV series on Fox called The Following. One of his twin character roles was killed off, and he ended up playing only Mark, who was exhibiting split identities as a character in the final season of the show.
Then came an even bigger role for him. In 2017, he was cast to play Jake Otto in the AMC hit TV series Fear the Walking Dead (A spinoff series of the longest-running zombie TV series The Walking Dead). He plays the enigmatic son of the colony leader.
More recently, Sam has also appeared as Adam Carrington in The CW series Dynasty, which is a soft reboot of the 1980s series of the same name that came before it.

Sam Underwood is happily married to his wife, Valorie Mae Curry. They got married back in 2016 after having dated for over 2 years. They met on the set of The Following, and it didn’t take long for them to fall in love with one another. Their wedding was featured in multiple press releases and was said to have been well organized. They exchanged their marriage vows and promised to remain together until the end of time.
