Early life before fame
Sarah grew up as the youngest of four daughters. She grew up in the Riverside neighborhood of Greenwich, Connecticut. Sarah has said that her mother, Mary Lee Rafferty, who is the Chairwoman of the English Department at Convent of the Sacred Heart School, as well as her father, Michael Griffin Rafferty Junior, who is a successful oil painter and has had a career in finances, have helped Sarah truly cultivate her passion for various arts. Sarah has three sisters, Constance, Ann, and Maura.

He has been a stock research analyst at the asset management unit of Lazard Frères & Company since 2004. The two married on June 23, 2001, at the esteemed Roman Catholic church of St. Mary, located in Greenwich, Connecticut. The pair has two daughters together, Iris Friday and Oona Gray.

She had appeared in several movies throughout the years, making her initial debut on the big screen in 2000 when she appeared as Amy in Mambo Café. Her next role came in 2002 when she played a Nurse in Speakeasy. This was followed by her 2004 appearance in Soccer Dog: European Cup as Cora Stone.
2006 saw the actress playing Sydney in Falling for Grace, for which she received critical acclaim.
