Who is Chris Diamantopoulos?

Chris Diamantopoulos is a Canadian actor. He is probably best remembered for appearing in the HBO series Silicon Valley as Russ Hanneman, as well as appearing in the TV series Good Girls Revolt and The Three Stooges. He is also the voice of Mickey Mouse on the eponymous TV series, as well as playing Mickey Mouse in The Wonderful World of Mickey Mouse.

Early life before fame:

When Diamantopoulos was growing up frequently went from living in Canada to living in Greece and vice versa. His family is of Greek descent, and he is a fluent Greek speaker and a member of the Greek Orthodox church.

Diamantopoulos was the star of a few TV commercials when he was just nine years old.

Professional career:

Diamantopoulos had worked on various professional theatre productions and television commercials when he was nine. When he turned eighteen, he left his home to go on a series of American national tours. A while later, he also worked on Broadway, playing the lead parts in Les Miserables (2003) and The Full Monty (2002). Diamantopoulos graduated from the East York Collegiate Institute. 

He has also guest-starred in various TV series, including Kevin Hill, The Sopranos, Charmed, Nip/Tuck, and Boston Legal. He has also played the interior decorators role in the miniseries The Starter Wife, while also having played Robin William in Behind the Camera: The Unauthorized Story of Mork & Mindy, where he starred alongside Erinn Hayes.

Diamantopoulos also had a recurring role as a guest voice on American Dad!, as well as appearing in State of Mind. He also played U.S. president Allison Taylor’s Chief of Staff Rob Weiss on the eighth season of 24. Diamantopoulos also portrayed Frank Sinatra in The Kennedys. He was also in the 2012 film The Three Stooges.

Diamantopoulos has been the voice of Mickey Mouse since 2013, as well as the Vampire and Mummy on the animated TV series Mickey Mouse and the follow-up series that were released throughout the years. 

Bret Iwan, who originally voiced Mickey in recent years, was replaced by Diamantopoulos as he had a voice more similar to the original Walt Disney voice of Mickey Mouse. 

In 2017 Diamantopoulos starred in Waitress, a Broadway musical. He also had recurring roles in The Office, Up All Night, and Arrested Development, where he played Marky. 

In recent years he has appeared The Middle, where he played Sue Heck’s mercurial, rich and charming boss Nick.

He is also voicing Frank Heffley in the 2021 animated film released on Disney+ called Diary of a Wimpy Kid. 

He is scheduled to appear in the upcoming film The Boys in the Boat as Royal Brougham, which is still in filming, and a release date is yet to be revealed.

Personal life:

Diamantopoulos has been married to the Ugly Betty actress Becki Newton since 2005. They have two children together, a daughter and a son.
